The design of the exterior cage is inspired by the bridges that support a watches gear train. The ring is delicately engraved to count the hours passing by The nib is made in 18-carat gold and rhodium coated, it is decorated with delicately engraved gear wheels. It is built and polished by hand to provides exquisite softness and comfort in writing and is available in Fine, Medium or Broad sizes. The cap is inspired by the wristwatch crown. It is made in plated- silver and coated with rhodium polished by hand. The clip has been deigned to suggest a watch hand, attached to a pinion. The balance wheel is the key element that brings a watch to life. Caran Dache craftsmen have positioned it at the tip of the body, perfectly poised between two rubies. This very delicate element can be seen through a saffire crystal dome. The interior cage represents the complex mechanism of a watch movement. Each part of the pens internal mechanism-piston pump, ink feed system and nib all benefit from the technical mastery and skills of Caran Dache craftsmen. The piston pump is set with a ruby as in a winding crown.
